Human exposure is NOT currently under control

About this site’s exposure pathways: As of May 2025 the Main Street Well Field Superfund site is considered “Current Human Exposure Not Under Control” because groundwater monitoring results on the East Side exceeded Vapor Intrusion Screening Levels (VISLs) and a vapor intrusion (VI) study was initiated in 2 commercial buildings within 100 feet of the wells that exceeded VISLs. Current data for East Side shows evidence of a complete VI pathway with sub slab and indoor concentrations above the Trichloroethene (TCE) Removal Management Level (RML). The planned activities to address this pathway are notification to building owners of sampling results; continue the VI study to determine if additional buildings are affected; and issue a Record of Decision for remedial action to mitigate the risk from the TCE in the indoor air. Human exposures are estimated to be under control by the end of July 2027 when remedial action to address VI is completed.

Data limitations: Proximity to a Superfund site boundary does not mean your property is contaminated. EPA site boundaries show the area designated for cleanup, not the full extent of contamination. Groundwater plumes can extend beyond site boundaries. This tool shows publicly available EPA federal data.
