EPA Superfund Site

HIGHWAY 100 AND COUNTY ROAD 3 GROUNDWATER PLUME

MN | EPA ID MNN000506121

Exposure status: insufficient data

About this site’s exposure pathways: As of August 2025, there is insufficient information to determine the site-wide Human Exposure Control status at the Highway 100 and County Road 3 Groundwater Plume Superfund Site. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is identifying Potentially Responsible Parties and began the Remedial Investigation (RI) in July 2025. EPA expects to have sufficient information to make a determination on the Human Exposure Control Status with the completion of the RI which is expected to be in September 2028. Groundwater is contaminated with chlorinated Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). A source for the contamination has not been identified. All city drinking water is treated to remove VOCs and meet EPA's water quality standards established in the Safe Drinking Water Act before distribution.

Data limitations: Proximity to a Superfund site boundary does not mean your property is contaminated. EPA site boundaries show the area designated for cleanup, not the full extent of contamination. Groundwater plumes can extend beyond site boundaries. This tool shows publicly available EPA federal data. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by EPA, and is not a substitute for a professional environmental assessment.
