Human exposure is NOT currently under control

About this site’s exposure pathways: As of December 2024, the Valley Pike VOCs Superfund Site is considered “Current Human Exposure Not Under Control” because groundwater, soil gas and indoor air have been contaminated by volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The planned activities to address these exposure pathways includes the continuation of the ongoing removal action to evaluate and mitigate vapor intrusion and implement a source control action. The removal action is expected to continue until a remedy is selected in 2027. Potential actions to address unacceptable risk at the site will be evaluated as part of the Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study begun in 2023. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) anticipates human exposures will be under control following implementation of the remedial action expected by the end of September 2034. EPA has prepared a Community Involvement Plan and also meets regularly with the local community and continues to actively engage with the Community Advisory Group.

Data limitations: Proximity to a Superfund site boundary does not mean your property is contaminated. EPA site boundaries show the area designated for cleanup, not the full extent of contamination. Groundwater plumes can extend beyond site boundaries. This tool shows publicly available EPA federal data.
