Exposure status: insufficient data

About this site’s exposure pathways: As of August 2025, there is insufficient information to determine the site-wide Human Exposure Control status at Unity Auto Mart Superfund Site. The main contaminants of concern in groundwater are tetrachloroethylene, trichloroethylene, 1,2-dichloroethylene (cis- and trans-), and vinyl chloride; exposure pathways are inhalation and ingestion. The soil pathway and surface water pathway are unknown at this time. In October 2014 water treatment systems were installed in seven residences to address the groundwater pathway. Planned activities to make a human exposure determination include completing a fund-lead Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study, begun in 2024. Sufficient information to make a human exposure determination anticipated by January 2029.

Data limitations: Proximity to a Superfund site boundary does not mean your property is contaminated. EPA site boundaries show the area designated for cleanup, not the full extent of contamination. Groundwater plumes can extend beyond site boundaries. This tool shows publicly available EPA federal data.
