Exposure status: insufficient data

About this site’s exposure pathways: As of April 2025, there is insufficient information available to determine the site-wide Human Exposure Control Status for the Hanlin-Allied-Olin Superfund Site. Both the soils and groundwater are contaminated with mercury, volatile organic compounds and semi-volatile organic compounds. Although there is a pump and treat system to control the southern edge of the groundwater plume, investigations are ongoing to determine if the northern edge of the groundwater plume is impacting the Ohio River. The Operable Unit 2 Remedial Investigation is ongoing and is focused on site-wide groundwater. The adjacent country club well, which is uses for watering the greens, and the down gradient municipal well are monitored quarterly. To date, they have not been impacted. The RI which will contain the Risk Assessment is expected December 2025. The report will be reviewed in 2026.

Data limitations: Proximity to a Superfund site boundary does not mean your property is contaminated. EPA site boundaries show the area designated for cleanup, not the full extent of contamination. Groundwater plumes can extend beyond site boundaries. This tool shows publicly available EPA federal data. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by EPA, and is not a substitute for a professional environmental assessment.
